Allergens are impurities in the air that can bring on an allergic reaction. In an urban environment, a mixture of these allergens with other impurities present in the air – called adjuvant substances – such as Diesel Exhaust Particles (DEP’s) produced by engines and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) present in building materials, cosmetics etc can turn allergens into heavy allergens. These in turn can have increased negative health effects such as aggravated symptoms and the triggering of latent allergies.

What is the benefit of the negative ions that the Daikin produces?

Positively-charged synthetic surfaces, house dust and electrical equipment remove ions and can therefore be the cause of complaints such as dry throats, stuffy noses, flu-like symptoms, loss of concentration, sleeping problems and headaches. These problems are addressed by the Daikin MC707 Air Purifier, through its plasma ionizer. The plasma ionizer ‘sprays’ negative ions into the air which bind dust particles, bacteria, micro-organisms and other air contaminants, making them ‘stick’ together. Is indoor air pollution a real problem?

Yes. The level of indoor air pollution is on average 1.5 to 2.5 times higher than what you find in ambient air outside*.
